Ok, so it's not winter here, but it's still cooler here than in most other parts of the country. I flew to Winnipeg on Monday for meetings and am leaving tomorrow. It takes a full day of travel to get here because flights go through Toronto, usually with a layover of a few hours, so it can be very tiring.
On the way here, I was seated next to a woman who kept invading my personal space and she didn't have anything to do like read, or play on an iPad, so she stared at me while I played Angry Birds. Also, I was on the aisle and when we landed she tried to get out into the aisle by climbing over me. I said "WAIT a minute!" I've never had anyone try to do that before. It was quite unnerving. Hopefully tomorrow's flight will be less weird.
Yesterday I wore my Charlotte Taylor ant dress that I recently had shortened. It was a maxi dress but I couldn't see myself wearing it at that length very often. I think its more wearable now.

I'm probably the only government employee who has ever worn a dress with big red ants all over it to a meeting. Take that power suit!
After day one of meetings, my coworker and I went to the Cha Cha Palace, a very funky store indeed. I shouldn't have, but I bought a cool linen skirt and a tunic/dress thingy which is really neat.
This store sells Fluevogs, Fly London and Camper shoes. I wish they had boots like the one on the sign.
Unfortunately I left my grey cardigan there. It cost less than a cab ride back to the store though.
Today I wore the new skirt I bought.
It almost looks like pants but it's a skirt.
Sweater: Pretty Things Boutique
Cami: From Envy
Skirt: Chalet from Cha Cha Palace
Shoes: Fluevog Presence Hi | Desmond
Since I left my cardigan behind, I had to wear the red one again today. It didn't quite go with the grey and blue but it was necessary to keep me warm.
After the meeting we went to Osborne Village and I was very good. I only bought a belt made out of a tie, a plain black t-shirt, and a present for my husband which I won't reveal in case he reads this post.
I'm looking forward to getting home tomorrow AND I have Friday off. So thrilled about that.
Tonight we're going for supper at a place with a pizza oven and then we'll have an early night. Flight at 9 am!
I LOVE that ant dress - what a funky, original print! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the ant dress so much. The color combo is really fresh and I love that you wore it to a meeting!
ReplyDeleteMajor-whoa about the lady on the plane. People must be crazy all over lately. I have met some real weirdos in stores.
The skirt is really interesting. The shape is so cool. Sorry about the cardi! Maybe you'll discover a new one?
Safe travels!
(also haha - three Megans!)
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that dress I said, "No way!" I love it! It's so unique. I'm glad you wore it to a business meeting. Ants are very industrious!
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Manitoba but I'll be sure to check out the Cha Cha Palace.
Oh, and good for you for "nah ah-ing" that rude passenger!
Soooooo cool that you wore that awesome ant dress to a business meeting! I love skirts that have unusual shapes like the one you bought. Sorry that you had such a rude seat-mate; sounds like she needed a good smack!
ReplyDeleteYour ant dress is fabulous, and wowza about the crazy lady on the plane although as a story after the fact it really was hilarious but I certainly hope your flight back is less exciting....
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely comment on my blog also!
Ugh, Winterpeg, you poor thing. Not that I have anything against Manitoba, my dad being a prairie guy.
ReplyDeleteI love the new skirt! It looks fab with the red (reads as dark orange on my monitor) cardi. Happy Friday off! Is it here yet?? Why not???
Awesome skirt! And I actually like the red cardigan with it because it plays with that blue in your shoes. The ant dress at the meeting is the perfect power suit.
ReplyDeleteTotally dig the ants expecially the one looped by the necklace it looks so well framed like art.
ReplyDeleteThat ant dress has to be one of my favourites of yours!

I love your ant dress! It is seriously a fun print and looks so cute with the orange sweater. And I triple love the blue shoes in the second outfit.
ReplyDeleteAnd lady on the plane? Wow. Crazy!
Ant dress power. Love it. Sorry about the sweater, maybe call them and have them mail it? or is it not worth it?
ReplyDeleteLove the ant dressed hemmed to that length. I should have thought of that!
ReplyDeleteOoo, such a quirky print.:) While I love quirky prints I think this one I wouldnt have manage to pull off, feeling ants crawling all over me. :) Kudos to you for wearing this dress to a governmental meeting. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat dress but I'm really obsessed with your hair!
ReplyDeleteI love the print on that dress - so fun and funky!
ReplyDeleteYou had me at Sally's mention of a dress with an ant print. :)
ReplyDeleteThe ant dress is amazing. I love fun and funky prints and that dress is both. Fabulous styling as well!
ReplyDeleteI have that ant dress and love it - but I love it even more at that shorter length! I hardly ever wear mine due to its maxi length. Seriously considering a trip to the tailor's now!
ReplyDeleteJust thought of you today because we launched a pair of Fluevogs on ModCloth (http://www.modcloth.com/shop/shoes-heels/john-fluevog-little-boutique-heel). I haven't been in the blogosphere for ages! P.S. you're looking more relaxed/happy! - due to the new job/location??
