Blasé

Today my coworker said that I didn't look like me because this outfit was too bland. I have to agree with her.

Blouse: some store in San Fransciso
Skirt: thrifted
Shoes: Camper

I like this blouse but I never know what to wear with it. I think it's time to let it go. It has gold threads in it and I like the ruffly bits on the button bands but overall, this isn't a great blouse.

These are from the Camper Twins line from a few years ago. I haven't worn them in ages so I wore them today to see if I wanted to keep them or consign them. They're cute but I don't really like the square toe and they aren't as comfortable as you might think. Might be time to let them go as well.

I liked my pins today. The "bad kitty" pin looks like my cat Dougal and the guitar playing squirrel is just for fun. And a Megan Mae buttonflower rounds out the flair for today.

What do you think?  Should I keep the shoes? Or the blouse?

  1. I like the shoes a lot. However if they're not the most comfortable and you can consign them for some extra bucks - I'd probably do that. I think the square toe looks fine, I like interesting shoe shapes.

I think the blouse is a bit long/bit snug in the buttons.

Also hooray for tiny buttonflowers! I like the carry-through of the square toed shoe with the square button. I don't know if it was intentional, but the side by side detail shots make it easy to see!

  2. I've never seen clothesline shoes before what a cute idea. If you decide to consign I'm sure someone will find them interesting.

  3. Love the little buttons, especially the guitar-strummin' squirrel! Based on what I've seen of your wardrobe, I'd say get rid of the blouse and the shoes - they really don't seem like you. The skirt is very cool though.

  4. Get rid of the blouse and shoes. You are clearly not satisfied with them and you have so many brilliant things that you love! But your pins are definitely keepers that you enjoy. Call me Miss Bossy Pants today!

  5. I don't think you are ever boring in your style; this is one of those outfits that the details leap out as you study them more closely.

But I'm with Melanie, if you don't love it, then consign it. I know my unloved clothes don't get much time out of the closet; I've been better about purging them lately, although sometimes it's hard to let go of something that you initially thought was a fantastic addition to your wardrobe. Boy, have my outfit pics been enlightening on that score :P

  6. I need to send you some pins. I know some you would like. :)

I agree, get rid of the blouse and the shoes. They aren't special enough for you!

  9. Yep, if you have to ask us, you probably already know the answer! My friend Vix (of Vintagevixon blog - go across and meet her, she's amazing) has a saying. If something doesn't make you feel fabulous when you wear it, ditch it.
The blouse doesn't seem colourful or funky enough for your style, and though the shoes are cute, if they aren't comfortable then you probably don't wear them, and have alternatives in your wonderful shoe collection.
I can tend to hang onto clothes I rarely wear "just in case" - though "just in case" of what, I'm not sure! I feel a de-clutter coming on... xxxx

  11. I do like the shoes, but if they aren't comfy then they have to go. I think they look really cute though! I love your button flare again, especially the kitty one!

  12. Love the shoes, but life is too short to wear shoes that hurt!
