Shiny dress is shiny!
I'm looking longingly at something. It looks like I should have a thought bubble over my head with ice cream, chocolate and Duran Duran in it.
My coworker called this print "Napoleonic". I didn't know that there was a connection between Napoleon and bees but I can see similarity.
Beeeees!!!!!
I knew I had another pair of sandals, I just couldn't find them. I searched my house and finally found them under the bed.
Yay for finding shoes!
Speaking of bees and Duran Duran
Eeee! Bees! I've recently had a bit of a bee/bug fanaticism. Maybe it's because the pest level this summer has been outrageous, or maybe just a new obsession. I love the dress. The print is so cool. I like the extra history lesson - so cool. I learned something new!
ReplyDeleteHooray for found shoes. Don't you love rediscovering something you already own?
Buzzzzz - have you read "The Many Lives and Secret Sorrows of Josephine B" by Sandra Gulland? It's a great tale about Josephine Bonaparte and explains the bees and is an absolutely fascinating book.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun dress, I like that the bees are subtle, but they are there! Very fun!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the embroidered bees (beautiful, I might add)I actually thought of free masonry, but that Napoleonic link is just as good, I had no idea of it!

PS: Duran Duran are amazing.
Love that dress. I know about bees/Napoleon from "Antiques Roadshow"!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes are fabulous. I've decided that I need more summery shoes from Fluevog. Ack! Although the Bay has a massive shoe sale on right now, so I'm going there after work. Shooooooes...
I never find stuff that good under my bed :P That skirt is the bee's knees.
ReplyDeleteSomeone had to say it :P
Bees! Who knew that tale about Napoleon? Not me, but I like it, and I like bees, the world needs its bees. And having them colonising your frock is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLike Lynne, I never find anything good under my bed (just dust and the odd tissue).
So you are a Durannie, huh? Which one of those boys is in your thought bubble covered in ice cream and chocolate? Simon le Bonbon, or ALL of them?! xxx
Buzz buzz! That's a great dress. Your finding (fab) shoes under the bed reminded me of when I returned from a year away abroad working and found a bag with a few pairs of shoes I'd forgotten about, at my Mum's house. So.Much.Joy. I thought I'd donated them!
ReplyDeleteI have been following your blog for a while, and love your style. Have *finally* signed up to Google so can comment :-)
