It takes true life, to paint your eyes

I didn't have a great start to my day. My water heater clicked off in the night so there was no hot water for my shower this morning. I quickly washed with cold water (brrrrr) but I felt grubby all day. Luckily I had this outfit on to make me feel put together and, well, clean.

Cardigan: Pretty Things Boutique
Top: Michael Kors (last seen here)
Belt: Value Village
Security Tag: Gift
Skirt: Desigual (last seen here)
Shoes: Aldo

I bought a different pair of shoes from the Aldo website (these ones) which I totally loved but my toes kept "gargoyling" over the ends of the shoes. I can't STAND it when people wear shoes with their toes hanging over the edge - they obviously don't fit if that happens.  That's probably my biggest pet peeve.

Anyway, I returned them to an Aldo store and exchanged them for these which are totally outside of my normal shoe comfort zone. I thought these looked like works of art.

I also thought it would be fun to add a wee bit of neon to my wardrobe.

I wasn't even thinking about this skirt when I bought these shoes. They're a pretty good match.

I made it almost until 4pm before I had to switch these shoes for some flats.

Today's Flair. I went with black and white since everything else was so colourful.

  1. I've never heard the term gargoyling, but I LIKE it and I shall definitely use it in the future, hopefully not in reference to myself. Your replacement shoes are perfect with that skirt.

  2. Lol! What a perfect word to describe something that definitely bothers me. I love admiring runway shows, but I find it appalling when a model's feet are curled all the way out of a shoe.

Sorry about the water heater! We've had a couple of days like that with the power outages. Hope yours gets fixed up quickly.

Those shoes are gorgeous. They remind me a lot of Sal's Faryl Robin pair only in an orange colorway. Glad you almost made it through the days in those pumps, I find Aldo shoes to be kind of unbalanced sometimes.

I always love your buttons! Lynne gifted me with a Fluevog pin when she visited. I need to try wearing some of my pins.

  4. What gorgeous shoes! I alzo love the skirt. I'm considering buying a Desigual dress and I wanted to ask you about the quality - when you launder them, do they shrink or pill or lose colour at all? Thanks :-)

  5. Ugg, cold shower? That is no good. Hope the heat was fixed quickly!

I had the opposite problem with a pair of shoes recently, they were too big when they arrived so I had to return them. I didn't want to be sliding all over the place!

The ones you got as replacement are fun! I love the color! I also love your flair.

  6. So your shoe collection is famous now? I'm not surprised! Those are beauties. Never heard of gargoyling, but it is now officially in my vocabulary, so thank you.
Great colours on your skirt. xxxx

  7. Ha, what a great word! I hate it when I see women with their toes curled over like claws.

Love your flair! Congrats on the link-up!

Oh and if you were wondering where I was...apparently I was not following you...again. Arg! Yours is the only blog that this happens with. :(
