Of Keys and Friends

Day two of being the bossy pants boss at work. Tote that barge! Lift that bale! Ok, I didn't say that. We got cupcakes instead.

Sweater: Danier from Value Village
Blouse: Joe Fresh
Skirt: Chalet from Cha Cha Palace (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Wonder | Ayers (last worn here)

A rather subdued outfit today other than the bulbous skirt.

I can't believe it's been 6 weeks since I wore these shoes. I'd say I should wear them more often, but when you have a lot of shoes, it's hard to repeat them without neglecting the others and that make them sad. Sad shoes are not something you want to encounter.

I like this better without the cardigan but it's necessary in an air conditioned environment.

Today I locked myself out of my house. I had dumped my purse out at work trying to find something and I guess I didn't put my keys back in and when I got home I had no keys.

I tweeted my plight and my friend who lives up the street from me offered to pick me up and give me beer but I thought I should wait for my neighbour to come home so I could get my key from her. Then my friend S. tweeted that she had my key and that she would bring it to me.

I have nice friends. I need to let them know more often how I appreciate them beyond a drunken "I LOVE YOU GUYS".

  1. Considering all the catsitting you've done for me. It's nice to be able do something nice for you.

  2. Aww so glad she was able to let you in your house.

I think your outfits for playing boss rock. That skirt is conservative, but also funky. I'm glad you're wearing your shoes. I'm not sure if those are one of your favorites, but I often associate that specific pair with you. They're Megan Shoes.

I think forgetting I owned certain pairs of shoes is one of the major reasons I slaughtered my shoe collection. It's now down to a much more manageable amount, but I somehow forgot about the only pair of sandals I owned for about about 2-2.5 weeks.

  3. Are you a scarey boss? I guess not if you crack open the cupcakes rather than cracking the whip!
Neutral look today, like the little bits of red from your hair and the badge.

  4. I haven't locked myself out of my house before, but I've been locked out of my car, it totally stinks!

I love the shirt and skirt together and agree I like it without the cardigan, but I totally understand the plight of the air conditioned office!

  5. They are amazing shoes, but yes, one needs to rotate one's shoes so as not to neglect the others. They should all understand. :)

Sorry to hear about your key plight! I've locked myself out so many times. Thank goodness my downstairs neighbour is so nice - she lets me in. :)

  8. You are so lucky. I've never been offered a beer when I've been locked outta my house :)

You have so many amazing shoes I bet you could change shoes three times a day and still not get to them all. Your shoes make me happy - please be sure to tell them that!

  9. We are Joe Fresh blouse twins - I make googly-eyes at piping. Bulbous Skirt is fabulous on you! Good thing shoes cheer up so quickly, and that there are friends indeed.

    1. Do you have a blog? Where can I see your Joe Fresh blouse?

    2. Hi Megan! Sorry I missed your response - I'm still way early in the blog-building process, but keen to get started. Your under-desk pictures pushed me over the edge. I usually wear that blouse with dark jeans and black patent pumps (which have white piping and and a white button, I can't help it!). I love how it washes beautifully, but I need a little double-sided tape so both sides of the piping show at the hem.
