Mini shoes

No outfit post again today though I did wear something awesome to the hospital today to get my ear tube and my sinus cortisone injection. I'm probably wearing it again tomorrow so I'll hopefully get a photo.

So the terrible news is that Duran Duran cancelled their last 5 stops on their tour, including the 2 I'm supposed to be at this weekend. Nick Rhodes apparently has an illness that is preventing him from performing. I'm totally BUMMED OUT. I've had tickets to see them 4 times and I have only managed to see them once. I'm starting to think that it's me.

Anyway, I took vacation this week specifically to go to the concerts so I'm going to go to Toronto anyway for 2 days. My main goal - BATA SHOE MUSEUM. I've never been. Can you believe it? Crazy! Expect photos galore.

My order from Solestruck came today, sort of. My gold shoes weren't in the box - they sent me a pair of White, Mens, Doc Marten creepers. That is totally the opposite of gold sandals.

First Duran Duran. Second no gold shoes. WHEN WILL THIS CURSE BE LIFTED!?

Ok, I did get these nice shoes in the mail too thanks to a poster on Flickr who offered them to me before she eBayed them.

Cute!

  1. First no Duran Duran, and then no gold shoes - You must have offended the Gods of 80's rock and flashy footwear! That is very sad about Duran Duran, and I hope the shoe mixup will be resolved. Now, about those OTHER shoes, the ones in the photo? They are WAY better than NICE!

    I likes dem shoes.

White men's Doc Marten creepers? I admit my imagination fails me but I googled them and am horrified.

  4. Cute shoes! I had a peek at the Bata Museum and it looks like heaven for shoe-ists. Sorry about Duran Duran, rotten luck. I have tickets for the Stones in November and I hope they are still living. : )

  5. Oooh the shoes ARE gorgeous. However, omg wtf. I think you and I need to do a luck dance or something because I'm in the same boat of shitty experience after another. Although, it is a little funny to imagine some guy getting your gold sandals. Hopefully solestruck will sort it out quickly.

Who knows, maybe something serendipitous will happen.

  6. Oh no, that's too bad about your cancelled concerts. Well, at least you have a reward in the shoes. I'm guessing you'll get your money back or be able to go when it's rescheduled. What a let down though......

  7. Aww! That's too bad about the shoe mix-up, and especially about the concerts. On the other hand, you haven't lost your unique magnetic Fluevog field - some aspects of the space-time continuum still hold. Whew!

I finally made it to the Bata shoe museum just this spring - I lived in Toronto for the whole decade of the '90s and never went. Have fun!

P.S. the customer review below the white Doc creepers you linked to is remarkable.

  8. Oh dear, I hope Nick and the DD boys realise how disappointed you are. Maybe those Docs were a gift from Nick by way of compensation... He should have known you better, the gold ones are so much nicer!
What cruel tricks of fate, but the universe is trying to balance the bad luck with some good, since a shoe museum and those lovely Fluevogs are right up your street. Hope the concerts get rescheduled. xxx

But, I do love the shoes!

  10. Aw, no! Not cancelled! That sucks, Megan! Sorry to hear about the shoe mix-up too - WTF, how does one confuse those??

However, shoe museum (*sigh*) and those amazing 'Vogs? Swoon!

  12. God, that is strange - no DD concert and no gold shoes.. but lovely Fluevogs? Is a DM wearer out there somewhere, bitterly disappointed with gold shoes sent to them? Such a shame about DD, I'm sorry for the disappointment.

  13. Sorry to hear no Duran Duran concert. Still trip to Toronto sounds like fun, and visiting that museum a blast.

Hope the shoe snafu fixes soon and you get your gold sandals. Those new to you minis are adorable.

  14. Oh noes, sorry to hear about cancelled Duran Duran concert, that sucks! I hope you will enjoy your stay in Toronto despite the circumstances. Congrats another Fluevog to die for in your amazing collection. :)

  15. The Bata Shoe Museum is great and the only museum in which I do not experience crippling museum fatigue. It's oddly laid out though. Make sure you get upstairs to visit exhibitions as well as the permanent collection. You sort of have to go back to the beginning to do that.

  16. Thank you for this post. Never knew about these shoes until about an hour ago. My mission for today is to go to their store when they open. Love the shoes, they look so comfortable. Thanks again!
