We must be working for the skin trade

Back to work, back to the grind, workity work work work. BLAH.

This is how I felt going back to work today (do not watch this if you are offended by swear words)

I haven't been sleeping very well lately - my brain keeps thinking and I can't shut it off - so I kind of made it through the day in a daze. I'm definitely not feeling myself.

It's starting to cool off a little bit so I was able to wear this topper that I bought a few months ago.

Topper: April Cornell via Value Village
Dress: Shabby Apple (last worn here)
Shoes: Liebling

This topper has a flappery feel to it with it's squareish shape and drop waist. I like the asymmetrical hem. The bottom piece is made of chiffon or tulle so it floats around rather than just hanging.

The back got rumpled - hazard of working at a desk all day.

I had over 200 emails to sort through today. Once I deleted the junk, luckily there were less than 100 that needed to be read more closely.

The real happiness of this outfit is the shoes.

I love everything about these shoes. The colour, the shape, the heel - everything. I'm glad I finally gave in and bought them.

They make me feel pretty and maybe a little happy.

I'm looking to make a change in my life so I'm going to have to curb the shopping.

    Sorry you've been feeling brain-fogged. Hopefully you'll get a good night's sleep.

  3. Fantastic Value Village find. It's dreamy on you, especially with those shoes and the pedicure! I hope the life change you speak of will not involve 200 emails...! Wow!

  5. That video was priceless - I have never had a temper tantrum, at least not as an adult, but I have had a few in my head which kind of looked like a few in the video. I love everything about those shoes too, especially the shape. I have the same problem of not being able to shut off my brain at night. Hope you can get a better night's sleep.

  6. Ha, I am a shockingly sweary Mary and dream of having diva tantrums (literally - I have had dreams where I totally lose it and scream at people, it must be my subdued inner rage needing release...)
I have never heard the term topper before. I like it, and will adopt it into my vocabulary immediately! The topper (see?) looks great, love the pattern on the side and the floaty bottom. And yes, those shoes would make me very happy too, what a lovely colour.
Hope the sleep improves and the emails are dealt with and the forthcoming change is all good. xxx

  7. With all the non-sleeping and the grotty back-to-workness and the weight of life-changing, I'm glad that you feel pretty and maybe a little happy, because you are pretty and still would be without any shoes at all. Nice to have a particularly excellent pair as a place to pause in shopping, though.

These blues (clothes, not feelings) are lovely on you, and how about all these awesome potty-mouthed ladies?

  8. Oh I know that feeling of not sleeping because so much is going through your mind. I totally was dealing with that last night myself!

Love those blue shoes. They're awesome.

  9. Ack, changes, good luck, hon. Sending you good vibes and hoping you are back to your ol' self soon.

Love the top - I see a lot of April Cornell in my thrifting/consignment travels, and never anything this cool. The shoes are awesomeness.

  11. Those shoes are dreamy. Wishing you luck with your change-making, it is always painful at the time but much better viewed afterwards -if that makes sense. Plus, take heart, you may have felt groggy today but your hair looked great!
