Art Deco

I've been wearing a lot of black and red lately. Maybe because it matches my hair? Or because those are my favourite colours?

Cardigan: Pretty Things Boutique
Dress: brand unknown from Crimson and Clover
Skirt: Knit by me
Tights: Hue from Sock it to Ya
Shoes: Fluevog Wonders | Ayers (last worn here)

I got this dress a few weeks ago at Crimson and Clover (mostly) Consignment Boutique. I really like the art deco design on it. It's short though so I put my knit lacy skirt underneath it.

Not sure what I'm looking at. Maybe I'm praying?

I have to wear a cardigan with it because the top of the dress tends to gape at the neckline so I have to cover up for modesty.

It does have a nice pattern on it doesn't it?

It's kind of velvety too. I like how the sleeves are gathered on the top.

And LOOK! Tuxedo stripes on my tights! Silver tuxedo stripes!

  1. I LOVE that dress - so very cute and it looks comfortable. Deco is one of my favorite design motifs, and that does it really well.

  7. Ooh, that dress is a beauty, very Downton Abbey (if a bit shorter!) It works really well over the lace skirt too. And thank you for pointing out the silver stripe!
I'm not going to make any jokes about flappers or showing us your Black Bottom. You're welcome. xxxx

  11. Stunning dress! I love your additions of knitted skirt (gorgeous work!), tuxedo tights, and shoes with spot-on shape and stitching detail. I'm making that same reverent awestruck face looking at this outfit, lol.

  12. You knitted that skirt? What a talented woman you are. I like your 'demonstrator' pointy finger too! Great mix of textures.
