Fragile Bird

It's been a bit of an emotional and stressful week. I'm closely identifying with the City and Colour song Fragile Bird.

However, it's Friday and I got my hair done after work today and then had a lovely dinner with my BFF so let's put the week behind us! YAY!

Dress: Stills (last worn here)
Tights: Modcloth
Shoes: Fluevog Wonders | Ayers (last worn here)

I've mentioned on here before that my least favourite colour is pink. So tell me, why did I buy these tights? It's not like I saw them in a store and they were $5 and I thought "what the hell". I actually consciously ordered them from Modcloth.  Odd that. I'm not sure if I even like them since the gradient isn't very "gradienty". It's more like these tights are half pink/half black. Feedback appreciated.

One more week and then I'm taking a week of vacation. Good buy crappy ass week! Bring it on January - I can take it!

  1. I'd agree that the tights are more bi-coloured than a gradient, but I kinda like the effect; it gives the impression that you're wearing knee high boots.

  2. I LOVE them. Pink being not my absolute favorite color, I own more of it than I ever believe. I'd try them out with blue or green and see how they work!

  3. I think the tights are very unique. Me personally, I'd wear them with boots

  4. Great tights! And do I see lipstick there? Nothing like dinner with a BFF to forget a crappy week. Your vacation is perfectly timed.

  5. Hair - looking good. Smile - in place. Dress in which you look incredibly svelte and shapely and chic - check. Dinner - eaten, delicious. Counting down to a week off - doing it!
I see what you mean about the lack of gradient, I thought you were wearing boots at first. Wearing them with boots would just look like they were a pair of pink tights... I like them though, and though I am not the biggest fan of pink, I do like that strong shade, not as girly as paler/pastel versions.
    Enjoy your weekend, Megan! xxxxxx

  6. Sayonara, icky week! Another pink-is-grotty person here - I kind of like the dip-dyed legs effect, and though they are more pink than the red in your hair, there's an excellent conversation happening between them.

  8. First thing I said to myself upon seeing these photos was "wow!" because my eye was drawn immediately to the tights. I love them. They don't read as pink in the photo, though. Rather, they echo your hair. But maybe in person they feel different than in the photo? Anyway, they look fabulous from here!

  10. Getting my hair did always improves my mood. I'm growing it right now, and it's driving me wild :( Your hair looks great. You remind me I'd like a deep eggplant streak in mine.

I like the tights. I thought you were wearing boots at first, so as prior commenters said, it's a pretty cool effect.

  11. Ditto for me the boot effect, I like it. I wonder what they wouldlook like with a red skirt meeting the pink of the tights. Lovely to see you smiling.

I also kicked off the weekend with a ladies night, it was like good medicine.

  12. Ooh, I like the tights - they give a neat look and make your legs look a mile long. They're more of a fuscia, not too bad.
