Free sweater on the bus

Today was my last day of work. Nine years at the same job, nine years working with a bunch of the same people. It's been a very emotional day capping off a very emotional week. So draining.

You're probably be seeing a lot of this cardigan and dress since both will be accompanying me to Toronto. Most of my clothes have been packed for storage so I'm already sort of living out of a suitcase.

Cardigan: Pretty Things Boutique
Dress: Emily Ryan Ballerina Cut-out dress (last worn here)
Tights: ?
Shoes: Messeca (last worn here)

I was starting to wear through the soles of these shoes so I had the cobbler put rubber soles on them. So I've lengthened their lifespan and they are also much less slippery.

Today was my last trip to work on #BusNo5. One of the people that I sit with, knowing my love of skulls, brought me this cardigan. She had ordered something from ModCloth and they sent her this in error. Rather than having her return it they said she could keep it. She's a public librarian so she didn't think this would fly in her workplace so she gave it to meeeeeeee!  Free Cardigan! Free SKULLS!

HUGE SKULL on the back! Such generous people here. I bet no one on the subway in Toronto would give me a free cardigan.

Prove me wrong Toronto! Prove me WRONG!

  3. Oh, how lovely of her! What a way to cap off your bus journeys :-) I wonder why she thought you'd like skulls?! Hee hee.

I hope Toronto takes up the challenge. I travel on a commuter train from one big(ish) city towards London every day, and have witnessed/participated in birthday celebrations, book swaps, knitting groups.. It can happen, it just takes a little time.

Hope you have packed those stripy tights in your suitcase?

  4. Wonderful gift, great way to remember time in area and generosity of people.

This dress and it's cute cut outs won me over. It's on sale and now coming home to me!!!

Can't wait to see what you packed in suitcase during capsule time

  6. Wow! I have to agree that you will likely not get a free skull cardigan in Toronto, but you never know...that was very thoughtful of your fellow commuter.

It is sad to leave people you've shared your workdays with for such a long time, but I have no doubt you will form a new community in Toronto soon enough. People will love your outfits ;)

  7. Wow, what a nice thing to do! I don't think anyone in Victoria would give me a sweater, but then I'm not a bus rider on a regular basis. Sweet skulls!

I love the hem on the new dress. I'm excited for you to break in a new crew of coworkers to your amazing personal style! What fun.

Wondered if you've seen this. Substitute for tights that were destroyed? Good for boots, not shoes
