Unintentional disappearance

The blogging? I haven't feel feeling it lately. I feel like its forced - like I have nothing to say so I'm just rambling to fill in space. My life has fallen into a routine. Walk to work, work, walk home, either make dinner or go out to eat, flick through TV channels, go to bed around 9:30. Rinse, repeat.

I did remember to take photos most days this week though.

Tuesday, June 18

Excuse the goofy look on my face. I was really struggling to get these photos in a poorly lit boardroom. I couldn't use the kitchen because someone was having lunch. At 4pm!? Who does that?

Dress: Modcloth (apparently never worn on the blog before)
Leggings: Target
Shoes: Chelsea Crew

Look'it me being saucy and sitting on the furniture! Bad bureaucrat, BAD!

I bought these shoes at a store called Meg. They have very pretty and unique clothing. I covet many things but have not yet made any purchases other than these shoes and a pair of earrings. Maybe soon.

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Vintage (last worn here)
Shoes: Fluevog Bellevues | Laura Evans (last worn here)

I had to walk a few blocks to a meeting and these shoes were so very comfortable. I get lots of complements on them. For both those reasons these were a good purchase.

I like the cutout at the top of the dress. Makes it less matronly and more "pizzazzy" as it were.

Ooops. Cut off my head.

I wearing a Duran Duran pin, a Batman pin, and a label from a label maker that says "I AM A WINNER". Long story.

Cardigan: Value Village
Dress: Le Chateau
Shoes: Fluevog Wonders | Ayers (last worn here)

I bought this dress on a whim because I liked the colour, stripes, handkerchief hemline, and straps. It seemed like the perfect dress for hot, humid weather.

It does have a lot of fabric to it though so it's a little heavy but seeing it in pictures I think it was a good purchase.

And it is visually interesting with the stripes going in all directions. Yes, this was a good buy.

So I received the Traveling Yellow Skirt from Shelley this week. I'm trying to think of the best way to style and photograph it. I've got a few ideas so I should be done with it soon and passing it along.

To people contacting me asking for it, it's already spoken for after me. A list is soon going to be created since it has suddenly become a hot ticket item. I'll post a link to that information once it's been officially announced.

  1. omggg I found a pair of J Crew acorn pants at goodwill one time. Wish I had gotten them for you! I actually remember carrying them around, but didn't think they'd fit me.

Congrats on getting the yellow skirt!! Can't wait to see what you do with it.

  3. Oh my gosh, I could not DO without your blog. Even if you post infrequently, that's okay, but do continue with your sweet blog. My style is very much like your style, and I don't know any others locally who dress like me, so I always feel a sense of vindication when I see your adorable outfits and accessories.

  4. I love that Le Chateau dress - definitely a good investment! And I like Chelsea Crew shoes for the styles and shapes. I'm not sure the quality is very good, but I'll see how my pair wears.

I know what you mean about blogging. If you don't feel it, you need a break. I find myself thinking I'll quit, then I start reading and taking photos and writing dumb stuff, so I get back into it. But I could not do it every day.

Can't wait to see the yellow skirt. It's becoming quite a phenomenon!

  5. I really like all three of these dresses - all different but each very cute on you. I think you need to do more photos where you play on the furniture, I love that shot! I found I had to start expanding my posts from just outfit photos because there are weeks where I'm just not feeling it. Maybe a bit of a break, or mix it up a bit? Perhaps the Yellow Skirt will be just the thing to light a creative spark.

  6. Well, you might call it rambling but I love your mumblings and observations. But I understand not being in the mood to blog, sometimes I just need to completely switch off, read a book and go to bed early. The other parts of my world unduly affecting my blogging world, so to speak.

The second picture made me laugh. Go, bad bureaucrat! Hee hee.

You are the queen of dresses for work.

  7. Bad bureaucrat, but excellent saucy minx! See, you may not be feeling the blogging, but the dresses are fabulous, all three, and that pose on the desk (cupboard? bookcase? What ARE you perching on in such a naughty fashion?) is inspired!
You don't need to worry about having nothing to say, Megan - it doesn't seem to bother the rest of us, haha! Don't we all just ramble on a bit and show what we're wearing? That's fine, isn't it? I think of it as being among friends - you don't have to be on tip-top hilarious fascinating form every single conversation, friends are happy just to see you and hang out for a while and know that you're OK.
The vintage frock is an absolute beauty, and the stripey one always looks fabulous. xxxxx

  8. The acorn dress reminds me of Anthropologie's famous bicycle dress, which I used to wear a lot but got the side eye from unimaginative people whenever I did so. I love the saucy pose!
