Mes souliers sont pourpre

Now that my medications have been changed and I'm no longer a sweaty mess when I get to work, I can wear this jersey dress again. It's a plain dress so I dressed it up with fun tights and shoes (aka. my trademark).

Dress: Pi Organic (last worn here)
Tights: Hue
Shoes: Melissa (last worn here with the same tights)

I'm wearing a slip under the dress but it's looking a little lumpy bumpy there on my left side.

Looks a little better from the back?

The reason I seem to keep matching these tights with these shoes is because they remind me of stars.

... and there's stars on the shoes!

I totally forgot I own these which is a darn shame!

Today I got earwormed with this song which is totally Shelly's fault. Half the time I was singing "Moist. Towelette" instead of the proper words.

  1. I loved how you paired the tights (very fun!) with the shoes! Is there a reason you wear the dress with s slip? Is the dress clingy otherwise? I just don't really quite get their purpose. :)

  2. I was just catching up... Great to see you!
I wouldn't have noticed the slip lumps had you not mentioned them. Yeah, slips could seem redundant, but they are lots of fun to wear especially if they are in a contrasting colour, and they add warmth in cold weather. You forgot you own these shoes?! Gaaa. Awesome outfit.

    1. Great point, Melanie! I definitely get a decorative purpose. I haven't really thought of adding warmth - being from Siberia, I've never even thought of it. We put layers (many) on our legs, and then of course a heavy coat on the top... But for Seattle weather, a slip might work as a warming layer!

  3. Ooh, Le Petit Prince - so very...starry. I love the shoes!

Natalia, slips smooth everything out (and they add warmth), hiding underwear lines and keep fabric from clinging to tights. I love my slips!

    1. Thank you, Sheila! I understand about smoothing, I do! :) I have never thought of it as a layer for warmth (as I responded to Melanie above). But it makes sense! :)

  4. Cool tights and shoes - they should always be together, it's only right.
Another big fan of slips here too - oh the static cling of some dresses if you go without! xxx

    1. I remember that I used to own some skirts of dresses which had this static cling - we used a spray for it. I guess I'm just not a slip kinda girl. :) But if it is a contrasting layer which add fullness to a skirt - I do visually love it.

  5. Stars! More importantly - star shoes! I'm glad the change in your medication seems to be helping. Side effects suck.

  9. I wondered who would get the song reference! Sorry to have planted it in your head, but I like the "Moist. Towelette" variation. The Little Prince shoes are very cool - leave it to you to have a pair of shoes with that theme.
