Tart-an legs

I have put this dress into my "give away" bag too many times to count but I always have sober second thought.

Cardigan: Pretty Things Boutique
Dress: Anthropologie (last worn here)
Tights: Hue
Shoes: Franco Sarto (last worn here)

The dress is wool and pretty nondescript other than the subtle detail in the bodice and the bow. I'll not make the mistake of trying to get rid of it again.

I think I was uncomfortable with the length but now that I've embraced the shorter dress I'm ok with it.

Plus these tights provide a lot of cover.

You can see the detail a little better here. It has a little bit of a scoop above the bow and some gathers coming down from the waist.

The back has buttons. Buttony!

When I was leaving work and man taped me on the shoulder (I was wearing headphones) and asked me where I got my tights. When I told him (Sock it to Ya, a local store) he said "I know what I'm getting my wife for christmas!" I hope he gets her something else too.

Here's my accessories. Necklaces with birds and two pins. I support Obama, tea, and Jean-Luc Picard.

A demain!

  1. OMG I am HEAD OVER HEELS for that outfit. Like it would get me to wear a short skirt, just to pull those tights out of what LOOKS like a calm, monochromatic outfit. Brilliant!

  2. I think the dress is perfectly cute! I'm glad it got saved from multiple culls. The color is fab and I think works well in your closet.

I'd call that man's wife a lucky lady! I usually pick out my own christmas presents. ;) A man with some initiative is a good thing.

  3. That dress is a keeper - love the colour and it's a great length on you. Those are awesome tights; I have a whole pile of patterned tights that I wear in the winter and people are always commenting on them.

  4. Love this! What a fun ensemble, and those buttons put it over the top. Go go go election. And go go go my favorite flavor of tea.

  5. Heh, I like the Jean Luc pin - that necklace (the lower one) looks like Lavishy.

Love the tights! I need to bust out my plaid tights soon.

  11. Tart on legs? Surely not, Megan! The shorter length is wonderful on you, shows off your fab legs and those great tartan tights. I have some but they are cheap crap, the pattern gets twisted when I put them on and looks a bugger... Maybe I should invest in some decent ones?
Glad you kept the dress, such a great shape and colour and the buttons are lovely. xxx
