Turning Japanese

Today was a very strange day clothing wise. More on that later.

Necklace: gift from coworker from Sierra Leone
Pin: Pretty Chic
Dress: Desigual from Envy (local store)
Leggings: Hue
Shoes: Fluevog Prepares | Guide

Yesterday I went to the mall downtown to pick up some clothing from the tailor. I had a few things that need alteration and when I dropped them off they asked me to give them a week and a half. I gave them a little more than that but they weren't finished yesterday. I should have walked right back out to my car but nooooooo, I had to "window shop". And I found this Desigual dress, on sale.

It's not one of their better made pieces, probably from a less expensive line, but I love the Japanese imagery and designs.

(on the back it says "New and Good")

I started off the day without the leggings and wearing my Noa Noa tulle skirt underneath the dress. Have you ever worn tulle right next to your skin? So uncomfortable! I took it off but this dress is shorter than I prefer so I felt kind of naked so I went out at lunch and bought these leggings. I was also wearing crazy awful support underpants (TMI) that I'm throwing in the garbage! Who needs those kind of uncomfortable underthings in their life?

I also took off the necklace for most of the day because it's very heavy.

Here's a close-up of the design on the front. Pretty.

BTW, the title of this post comes from the Vapors' song of the same name.

  1. Lol, I have had the same thing happen with tulle - ouch! Prickly! I love it with your Guides and the leggings.

What a cool dress - the Japanese vibe works really well on you with your dark hair and bob cut. I have that song on my mp3 player!

Have a fabulous weekend, Megan! I had a couple of Strongbows tonight after work and toasted you! :)

  2. Love the dress. Sometimes desigual things are too complicated for my tastes, but that dress has all the good elements of desigual into a great cut.

Ugh, I know better than to window shop. I won't talk about how I just bought three new bras. Admittedly my old ones are getting sad, but sales! They keep happening.

  3. That is one amazing dress! No wonder you had to buy it! I'm glad you finally found your comfort zone today to maintain the great vibe of the dress. Have a great weekend.

  4. Fun dress! Love the colors and the cut. And I started singing Turning Japanese in my head as soon as I started reading your post. LOL

  5. I LOVE that song, it's so much fun!
The dress is really pretty, great find!

  6. I loved that song when it came out and I believe I still have it on a "45" somewhere! The dress is very cute, but OMG, THE SHOES!

  7. I am in love with that dress. Gorgeous, mystical, magical vibe it gives off. I cannot wait to get my hands on some desigual.
